RICCARDO MINASI APPOINTED CHIEF CONDUCTOR OF MOZARTEUMORCHESTER SALZBURG

Riccardo Minasi has been appointed Chief Conductor of the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, with effect from September 2017.
Speaking about his first visit to the Mozarteumorchester in September 2016, as both conductor and violinist, Minasi described the occasion as “a real thunderbolt … a unique and very special experience. To join an institution with such an exemplary heritage and tradition that Ivor Bolton maintained vividly for so many years of collaboration is a big honour – and I’m extremely thankful to all the musicians and the administration of the orchestra for their invitation.”
Thomas Wolfram commented: “With Riccardo Minasi we have a conductor, a violinist, a musicologist and an extraordinary musician who came from baroque music but whose repertoire now reaches well into the 20th century and beyond. We have found him, our new Chief!”
